As Easy As It Seems

Conscious of how this might sound,

won’t be the first time

you’ve taken it wrong.

I’m selling weight by the pound,

for so long

heavy heart drags me down.

I waited for you,

but you wasted my time.

Convinced myself that it’s alright,

misread all the signs.

You know me

                I’m just singing to hear my own voice now.

Can you see me?

                I’m trying to choose the right choice now.

But it’s never quite as easy as it seems.

I’m still waiting for you in my dreams.

Crippled, cross-eyed,

fallen, crawlin’

‘cross the line.

But it’s never quite as easy as it seems

to get you outta my mind.

Cold hearted, callous,

wish I was.

Can’t see what good

if any it does;

to still love you,

I’m wrong,

it’s my fault.

One day though,

you’ll be married (happy?)

I’ll be salt.

And it won’t be the first time

I’ll while my days away

by any means.

Nothing’s ever quite as easy as it seems.

And if you hear this,

don’t try and look too deep;

just leave me the fuck alone

while I’m asleep.
